Living Goddess | Movie

Documentaries

Distributed by Netflix and made in association with Channel 4 in the UK. The film follows the life of a girl worshipped as a goddess in Nepal. Shot during the people’s revolution that ousted their ruthless king, the film is an intimate portrayal of ritual and childish playfulness as violence erupts on the streets. We were given unprecedented access to the private life of the child goddess. This custom may well disappear post-revolution as the pressures of modernity hold sway.
